Is Eating Too Much Hot Sauce Bad For You?
While you opened the second bottle of your favourite hot sauce within one month, did you ever find yourself questioning whether eating too much hot sauce is bad for your health?
Well the good news is that, you are at least not consuming the white washed sugar based sauce/ ketchup. So using hot sauce in your food is definitely better than using any other condiment. As it comes with its own set of health benefits. However when consumed too much, it can also harm your health!
What is Capsaicin:
Capsaicin is a chemical compound found in chilli peppers that contributes to its fiery heat. Though it is famous among the pepperheads for burning their mouth and challenging their food, it also has certain health advantages that usually go unnoticed amidst the temporary discomfort and burning sensations you get after eating hot sauce.
Health Benefits:
The capsaicin in chillies have high levels of anti- oxidants and anti-inflammatories. So your regular dose of hot sauce can help you to reduce blood pressure level, cure arthritis, fight migraines and joint pain. It can also help regulate insulin levels (which can help prevent and control diabetes), plus it's a terrific decongestant!
Chilli peppers are proven to be a good source of minerals, and vitamins including vitamins A, C, B6, K, folate, magnesium, and potassium.
As you may already know, Vitamin C can help boost your immune system, prevent you from colds, the viral flu, and other chronic diseases.
So ditch your vitamin pills and dig into a spoon of hot hot sauce!
Not to forget that hot sauce is one of the very few condiments that do not add any unnecessary calories, proteins, fats or carbohydrates to your food.
It only provided you with abundant vitamins and minerals.
And to top it off, the capsaicin in the chillies also helps in boosting your metabolism which in return will help you burn calories, more effectively and effortlessly.
