Hottest Chilli Flakes In India

Hottest Chilli Flakes In India

Considering how much us Indian people love heat and spice in our food, it feels strange to think of chilli flakes as anything other than the fast food way to add (a very very little bit of) heat.

Yet, it’s convenient, and sort of does the job in a pinch, quite literally. But in the grand scheme of how amazingly versatile and tasty Indian chillies are, there really isn’t much joy to the chilli flakes you see the most - the restaurant delivery version you receive isn’t very flavourful and offers up very mild heat.

They’re the bare minimum of what you need but nowhere close to what you want.

Be it your popular pizza hubs, the best pasta places in town or your local cafes, you’ll always find a pack or jar of the most bland tasting chilli flakes, with little heat, less taste and even less personality.

We wanted something better. Something with all of the above. We might have taken it to the extreme, but all that means is all you need is a dash.

We bring you India's hottest chilli flakes, made with slow-roasted, smoky Bhut Jolokia chillies. Fire Flakes is the second entry to our Naagin Indian Spice Essentials range - spice products you didn’t know how much you needed till you tried it.

Why Are The Fire Flakes So Hot?

We don’t do average, so these are not your average chilli flakes. Naagin Fire Flakes are made with Bhut Jolokia chillies, one of the world’s spiciest chillies that is actually used for cooking, and is beloved by hot sauce and chilli lovers around the world as the ‘Ghost Pepper’. The Bhut Jolokia measures over 10,00,000 SHU on the Scoville Heat Scale, making it at least 130 times as spicy as the average Jalapeno Pepper. It’s not to be taken lightly - you must respect the Bhoot or it will haunt you.

What makes Fire Flakes the hottest chilli flakes in India is the fact that they are made with 100% Authentic Bhut Jolokia chillies, unadulterated, slow roasted to perfection, mixed with just the perfect amount of rock salt to enhance the flavours.

Flavour Of Bhut Jolokia Chilli:

State of Origin: Assam, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh

Appearance: Short, shrivelled, bulbous

Scoville Rating: 800,000 – 10,00,000 SHU

Jalapeno Ref. Scale: 100-130x spicier

Ghost peppers have a strong  fruity, sweet chilli taste. They give a nice burn but the heat does not kick in for 30–45 seconds. You can expect sweating, watery eyes, hiccups, and shortness of breath once the heat hits. The burning usually worsens over 10–15 minutes and goes away after 30–40 minutes.

These peppers do not have the stinging heat of scorpion peppers. Instead, they provide a lovely flowering heat that blooms. It is extremely spicy though, so it is to be used sparingly at first. If you can tolerate that kind of heat, then you can slowly add more for your personal pleasure (or pain).

To make this biting experience milder, we’ve even spent time trying to perfect the balance between chilli skin and chilli seeds to give you the highs and lows at every bite.

These are crushed in the most suitable size, not too big, not too small, just about right to sprinkle it on anything and everything of your choice, but with a slow shake so you don’t take too much. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll know exactly what we mean.

Can Eating Bhut Jolokia Chilli Flakes Kill You?

Even though Fire Flakes are made with the hottest chillies in India, they are not likely to kill you. Yes, they can absolutely surely cause you discomfort and pain when consumed in larger amounts.

Note: This might happen with what may seem like a small quantity as well, and how much is too much, ranges widely from person to person. So beware!

In 1980, a research study determined that 1.3kg of severe chilli flakes taken all at once may kill a 68kg human. However, our bodies would react sooner and you probably wouldn’t be able to consume that much. This theory is absolutely not to be tested. Stick to just a few flakes at a time and ramp up when you’re comfortable.

Fire Flakes are totally safe for you, if eaten in moderation.

We do not however recommend this product for children. Adults are recommended to take extreme care.

So go ahead, challenge yourself. Add that extra heat and fierce smoky-goodness to anything and everything you think needs heat for you to eat. Every bite of this feels like a crescendo of heat waves until the ghost creeps up on you!

Heat Level: XXX Spicy (10/10)!
