Why we exist

Naagin was founded with a rebellious spirit and no small objective: to offer instant taste upgrades to people (of passion) who want better food, and to bring a modern twist to India’s historic and passionate relationship with spices.
Every idea starts with a problem. Ours was simple: India is the largest consumer and exporter of chillies in the world. Indian cuisine is globally renowned for all things spicy, yet still, the best-selling hot sauce in India is an American product made with chillies from Mexico. That just didn't feel right.
It turns out, there was a simple explanation. There were no good alternatives. The food industry is dominated by companies who want you to buy more of the same > not buy new and better. They want you to eat products they know they can sell, not the ones they know you will love. This is why we all get the same old products with the same old flavours.

The Original

That’s right – we’re so pleased with this one that we called it the Original Indian Hot Sauce. This sauce represents the quintessential flavours of Maharashtrian cuisine, featuring the Sankeshwari chilli that gives Kolhapuri food its distinctive spiciness and bright red colour.
This is our one-size-fits all sauce, coming in at a comfortable medium spicy level that may get your nose running, but won’t have you screaming for a glass of milk!

Flavour Profile

A full-bodied uplifter of the bland, the Original is a tantalizing blend of tomatoes, onions and garlic, perfectly combined with Sankeshwari and Bhavnagri chillies to bring you a little kick. Our secret ingredients will leave you salivating!

Heat Level

The Naagin Original Indian Hot Sauce (aka The OG) is family-friendly and suitable for any palette – ladies, gentlemen and children of all ages. This beauty clocks in at a comfortable ‘Medium Spicy’.

Chilli Spotlight

A local Maharashtrian favourite, the Sankeshwari Chilli is known for giving Kolhapuri and even Konkan food its distinctive flavour bright red colour. It’s got a spicy zing so nice a single bottle will not suffice!

Not for the faint of heart (or belly!), The Naagin Bhoot Indian Hot Sauce is our signature extra spicy spice sauce, featuring the infamous Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper) from Assam in North-East India. The hottest chilli in the world that is actually used in cooking, Bhut Jolokia has a distinctive burn that is beloved by lovers of spicy food all over the world.
Naagin Bhoot showcases the fiery cuisine of the North-East and is a full bodied, robust sauce that packs a flavour punch before the heat knocks you out.

Flavour Profile

The rich-textured smoky Bhoot is built on a blend of celery, onions and garlic! The flavour forms a fine base as the Bhut Jolokia and Lavangi chillies slowly creep up on you to delight and torment your taste buds in equal measure.

Heat Level

The Naagin Bhoot (aka The BJ) may not be for everyone but it really should be. We’ve toned it down a bit so we could bring you some serious flavour, but it still comes in with an ‘Extra Spicy’ tag.
